Isikunäitus, mis toimus minu välisõppe perioodil Portugalis, kevadsemestril. Näitus koosnes sealsete erinevate emotsioonide, tunnete ja kohanemisprotsessi käigus loodud maalidest. Oli ülimalt rikastav proovida mõista teatud uskumusi, kombeid ja tavasid ning kogeda uut kultuuriruumi niivõrd lähedalt. Mind tõeliselt inspireeris igaühe, kellega oli võimalus kokku puutuda, lugu ja vaade maailmale. Me oleme pealnäha sarnased, tihtipeale kattuvad meie inimlikud soovid olla nähtud, kuuldud ja arvesse võetud. Oleme uhked oma saavutuste üle ja peame oluliseks pere ning sõpru. Mis tekitas aga vastuolu, oli teatus mustrimaailmale omane jäikus. Avatud mõttemaailm saab alguse avatud kasvukeskkonnast ning väga tugev vastandumine muudab meid must-valgeks. See pani mind mõistma, et me tõesti elame igaüks omas maailmas.

A solo exhibition that took place during my study-abroad period in Portugal in the spring semester. The exhibition consisted of paintings created through the various emotions, feelings, and the process of adaptation experienced there. It was incredibly enriching to try to understand certain beliefs, customs, and traditions, and to experience a new cultural environment so closely. I was truly inspired by the story and worldview of everyone I had the chance to encounter. On the surface, we are similar; often our human desires overlap—to be seen, heard, and taken into account. We are proud of our achievements and value our families and friends. What created a sense of contradiction, however, was the rigidity characteristic of a certain patterned worldview. An open mindset begins with an open environment for growth, and strong opposition can make us see things in black and white. This made me realize that we truly each live in our own world.

Cada um vive em seu próprio mundo

Nem sempre é fácil entender-nos uns aos outros. Sentir e aceitar as nossas diferenças estando no outro lado do mundo. As palavras podem ser mal interpretadas, os atos podem levar a mal-entendidos e a única coisa que resta é o nosso próprio mundo nas nossas mentes. Há sempre luz e escuridão, yin e yang e considerando esta exposição – quente e frio. Um nunca pode aparecer sem o outro. O gosto pode se misturar com a solidão e a frieza e com as lembranças. As memórias informam quando algo já se foi. O brilho mostra-nos a felicidade no momento e tudo no meio pode ser considerado como um espaço aberto para ouvirmos. Esta exposição é feita com todas as diferentes ideias que se juntam num espaço aberto. Pequenos pedaços de memórias, amizades germinadas e sentimentos mistos.
